Rubber comes from trees. Wild rubber comes from wild trees throughout the Amazon. For hundreds of years rubber has been tapped by indigenous communities spread throughout the rainforest. However since rubber is now cheaper to produce on plantations, for a long time it has been difficult for locals to make a living from wild rubber. It is easier for them to make a living from practices that depend on deforestation.
So our mission is to make wild rubber sexy. So its value is understood and appreciated. And so that one day the forest will become worth more standing than it is worth cut down.
